Default 40 series flowmaster

Yeah, I had the same problem. Bought my truck about a year and a half ago and someone put the 40 series on mine. It's been that way ever since, they actually just swapped out the muffler and left the rest of the exhaust stock. I did cut of the stock pipes to the rear and out and put on a turn down. I will probably go to the 50 series down the road. I wouldn't sweat it!

I put the 50 hd on mine and I really like the sound, not too loud and a nice hemi rumble (sorry guys I'm over 40 years old) But the drone in the cab is killing me. At 35 and 60 mph or about 1500 to 1700 RPM. It maks me want to go back to stock.

If you want, I'll trade you. I have a quieter sounding exhaust with a 70 series (either HD or Big Block). It's 2.5 foot long, and not that that loud. It has a nice crisp rumble, but could be a lot louder.
If I were you, I'd stick with the 40, I want to trade mine out for one. It has some rust, so maybe I can justify one by saying mine's too rusted out. Unfortunately it's just a little top coating, but you never know.

The 50 HD will not be deeper. Check out this video, it is a 50 HD and then Super 40 on the same truck. You can hear that the 40 is much deeper.

I think I'd be interested in buying that 50HD...my muffler shop wanted to sell me one for $80 but nothing beats slightly used. I am only 21 but still seem to hate the drone on trips...I have straits of course! But I had a 40 series on my ford with the 5.4 and it was still loud as hell, I want to hear it if i get on it but not on the interstate...

Aite...I love the sound of my exhaust, and everyone else is telling me no on silencing it (but of course, they dont drive it) so I'm kinda in that in between stage unless I get a great deal at some point

I'm wondering which one to get though. There are so many mixed reviews of the 50HD. I'd like to try it on my truck, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on something I'm not going to like. What I want to do is cut off my muffler, and put on another muffler. If it's si/do, then I'll keep my exhaust on, but if it's si/so, then I'd just take off my exhaust, and then store it. I love the way that it looks on my truck, it's so sweet. But I want something louder, and without straight pipes.
