i mean i have a daytona, this came with a borla muffler from the factory, this has 3 inch piping in and i believe 2.5 dual out. So right no i just cut that out because it was tooo quiet and i have a si/do flow, but i really want the magnaflow 14 inch now because i want to hear what it sounds like and how it performs. I know the power increase wont be very noticeable, but it seems like it just doesnt have the power that it used to with the borla.....hmmm.....anyone have anymore input on the magnaflow 14"?

What I want to do on my truck is instead clamp on my exhaust rather than welding it on. That way if I want to go down the road for trips, I just unclamp it, then clamp on my other muffler. Get a 40 series or super 44, then get some piping to extend it to fit for my 70 series, then my new muffler.
How would it sound with a si/do dumped before the axle? I'm not sure how it'll sound between dumped or with my tips. So what I'm wanting to do is get an si/do then choose which sound I like more.

Ha that sounds like an exhaust leak/lost muffler waiting to happen...I was riding my fourwheeler at mudstock up a hill and all of a sudden BANG BANG BANG looked down and my aftermarket muffler was on the ground and it sounded like hitting a trash can...
SilverBullet, I have no muffler on my truck and honestly it isnt any louder than my ford with a 40 series FM
The drone on a 40 is bad, i'm an EMT and my exhaust is louder than the siren on the ambulance i swear! Someone decide on a muffler so I can go get one, never heard a magnaflow on a dodge? My bosses super 40 on a 4.7 is very whispery for some reason, sounds like a stock GT mustang or something

Lost just because of using clamps? Because I don't want to weld my muffler on. I'd rather be able to unclamp it, then take it off. As it is now, I'll have to cut it off in order to change out my muffler. I'm sure I could figure up some method to put enough pressure on the muffler from each direction to hold it on.

yea, alot of rough shocks transfer through your frame, not saying that you arnt smart enough to figure it out though.
And I dont know if you have seen this but some guys around here have vehicles that they take to the track and have both a racing muffler and a quiet muffler, and have a small shut off valve to divert the exhaust from one side of the y-pipe to the other. Im sure you could figure this out, just an idea from the southerners

I've actually heard of the switches. I've never seen the setup before. That would be something to do. Get an x-pipe and divert it through that.

Try it, perfect it....I will invest in your newly founded company to solve the problem of power vs *****, and it will be a hit from there eventually being installed on performance trucks from the factory

yeah if you want it to be loud sometimes and queit others just get an electric cutout. put a queit muffler on there ( magnaflow 22 inch, or a flowmaster 70 series or even longer). but the cutout before the muffler. best way to have both worlds.
when i got my exhaust the guy said any exhaust will be louder on a dodge than any of the other manufacturers.... my4.7l has an original 40 and its very loud..

The 40 series sounds real good on the 4.7 engine.
