Default ABS Pump/Module Help

2003 Ram 2500 Diesel 4x4. (my dads)

OK, I was driving down a hill on the ice yesterday, and the abs kicked in, and then I started sliding with no more abs. Now the abs and parking brake lights are on, and the abs no longer works. I took it to my mechanic buddy, and the obd II diagnostic said the abs pump circuit was open. We checked all the fuses, and it has power to the pump. So either the pump is bad or the module is bad.

Anybody have any experience on this? We couldn't figure out how to test the module to see if it worked or not. I would just buy a whole new unit, but it is 700 bucks, and the module itself is only 250, so i had to spend that much money on the unit if it is just the module

Any suggestions?

Run 12V directly to the motor and see if it runs. If so, it is probably the module.
