Default Hemi reliability - Hype or Happy?

Just curious more than anything else. There was quite a bit of hype about the reliability of the Hemi engine and the effort Chrysler went throught o bullet-proof it; like, "The engine was exposed to some of the harshest testing conditions and abuses imaginable," said Donald Dees, Vice President of Quality for the Chrysler Group. "And each time it roared back."

I've seen/read/heard complaints about the 545RFE tranny, the blend door, etc., but.. Has Chrysler actually done something good with the Hemi?

Oh crap dude, hate to tell you, but these things aren't designed to last more than 50k miles, at most. Oh wait, do you want us to lie saying which thing? lol

I've got a little over 80k on my truck, and she still purrs like a tiger. I've had some CEL, but that was with my vacuum system, and power steering pump.

47,000 on my 08. Your truck is a carbon copy of mine with the exception of the bed rails. I drive mine pretty hard. No codes or tranny problems. I have some engine noise @ start up which I understand is quite common but once its warm and I touch the throttle the noise is gone & she runs like a scalded dog thanks to the Cortex performance tune. My Chevy MC made these same noises @ start up and had 130,000 on it with absolutely no engine related problems. Im happy with my Ram other than the seat cushions being Walmart grade sh*t.

Get a tuner and delete the worthless MDS and get better MPG plus you will love the way it runs.

had a MAP sensor failure, but other than that it's been solid at 75K. does the sensor even count as engine?
