2003 3.7 running rough
no, new codes. reset it after i got the p0300. Wife has been driving it back and forth to work this week, about 3 miles, and it hasnt triped a code or a light at all, but it is still running rough. She just told me what it seemed to be doing and I though i was post it here to see if maybe it brought any more ideas out. Guess I will see what I can find this afternoon/evening. Will post again tonight with some results, and hopefully a solved problem.
i replaced the plug with new bosch platinum 2's, cleaned the coils and it seems to be running fine. Coils looked to be pretty nasty. No water in the connectors but there was a fair amount down around the rubber boots on the coils. Keeping my fingers crossed that the problems are fixed. Drove for about 20 min. to see how it ran when it got to normal running temp and no hesiation whatsoever. Thanks for the help and the ideas, I will be sure to keep up with this forum now that I have found it. Again, appreciate all the help.
Glad to hear it is resolved. Did you look at the old plugs and check them for damage, they could tell you more by comparing them to a chart. In the haynes manual for my truck it shows many different types of wear and tells you what might be causing each.
nope, haven't washed the engine but like I posted earlier when that waterpump let go it covered to whole engine compartment with antifreeze. The drivers side plugs were the worst by far but the other side still had some water in the coils. when I say water i dont mean clear water but just a dirty colored liquid. Like MarkMark said, changing the plugs worked like a charm. Also did look at the plugs, thew did look worn but other than that didnt see anything wrong with them. Oh well, cant complain to much, had the truck for almost six years and this is the first time its ever gave me any trouble.
