I use the Mobil 1 full synthetic. It is a good oil and easy to get. I am actually thinking of trying the Royal Purple oil at my next change since the store near me just started carrying it.

Best oil for anything is Amsoil.

Royal purple is good, but amsoil is in a different league all together.

M1 or RP, can not go wrong.

5W-20. That is what my old 05 called for. Odd, it was the first year for 5W-20, yet MDS, which many think was the first year to call for 5W-20 was not until 06.

I read that I should use 5w20 synthetic, but the dealer here said you don't need it and not recondmended and I have heard when you take your truck to some places that just stick in 10w30 and was told not to use it with a Hemi

Use what is recommended in the manual, 5w-20. The person who made the manual (the manufacturer) knows a little more about what viscosity to use

I used Mobil 1 for years, but switched to Royal Purple about Sept '07 in both my truck and Grand Cherokee. Better mpg's smoother running engine, oil in better shape at change time. I'm sticking with it and gradually changing ALL my other lubes to RP as they come due to be changed.
I'd have tried Amsoil, but it's just too much of a PIA to get, I like to just be able to hit the auto parts store when I need it...

That's the same switch that I am planning to make on my next change. Glad to hear you got positive results.

i run mobil-1 with a purolator pureone filter... i switched to rp for 2 oil changed and didnt like wha ti saw when changing it out at the next oil change. it came out like water, really really thin/ didnt even look like oil. i changed the rp at 3k intervals just see how it compared to mobil-1 (which i now change at 5-7k) maybe its just me but i do not want my oil breaking down that quickly. ive heard thats just how RP is thouch, i have yet to try amsoil but i am tempted on the next change if i can find it around here.
