Gettin 4.56 this weekend. Need some quick help
The nearest 4wheelparts is about 150 miles away (LA) from where I live (central coast CA). As it turns out, im headed down that way this coming weekend and staying in the area for the weekend. I've decided to do the 4.56 gears, since the truck currently has 3.55's trying to turn over 35" tires, and the performance is sub-hemi quality to say the least. I'm definently going to get the Detroit Tru-trac as well, while they're in there.
My question is, whats the lowest I should be able to get 4wheelparts down to, while doing all dealing over the phone? I know the mod isnt cheap, but I'd really like to get the price below $1500 for parts/install. Is that possible? I've seen a couple places online that have decent gears for $315 including the master install kit.
Thanks for the help

There was a post on here this past week (i cant find it), I think someone said they got 4wheelparts to match an ad, $1600 was the best price, I thought. Hammer posted a few times in that one on how to get them to come down on it...maybe he'll chime in here...
Correct. I got 4:56 gears front and back with master install kit. Detroit Tru Trac in the back. and install and 500 mile check up all for $1600 plus tax.
I just got all that done at 4 wheel parts in Denver about 7-9 months ago.
I did get an original quote for over $2,000 and after I went home and printed up some prices from other places, I went back in and they didn't even blink at the new price. They just said we will match there prices. Done deal.

dodgenitto, good deal there. Where did you find the parts online? How much was their labor price? How long should i expect it to take in actual time spent working on the truck (to have a rough idea how much i can bring down their labor price). Thanks... im so pumped about gettin these new gears. This 3.55 is a dog (9 mpg city right now)

Cost me just a bit over $1400 for front and rear 4.56s, master install kit and auburn LSD in early 2006 at four wheel parts, Orlando. That was out the door, and the 500 mile checkup included. Originally quoted just over $1800...
