Default School me on rear lift blocks

Hey, I have to be honest I do not know a much about the pros/cons of rear lift blocks. I am looking into possibly putting 2'' rear lift blocks on my 06 ram 4wd. I do not see a lot of people doing this on the newer trucks I only really see it on a older trucks. I have heard that blocks can cause axle wrap and can be bad. I have also heard that as long as you do not go beyond 3'' blocks you will be fine. So whats the deal? Thanks

I would take the rougher ride of an add-a-leaf over the block situation...they do cause alot of axle wrap. you can see it when u follow a truck that has them. plus, under severe situations, they become the weak link in the rear end and can break or pop out. plus, they just look plain cheap, imo.

i had blocks in my 90 ramcharger and everytime i went over a bump in the road while going thru a turn, you could feel the axle move differently from the body.....IMO, blocks are a very bad idea, specially on the newer trucks....i'd look around for a lift spring before i even thought about blocks...........

it's not too terribly bad to install another leaf, just gotta take the springs apart and put in a new leaf...make sure to get some teflon to put inbetween the spring you add

it really not that hard.In my opinion the hardest part is takeing the axle on and off,You gotta do it anyways to add blocks.I think someone might sell a complete kit IE: spring,u-bolts Ect. But i'm not sure. Its been a long time since i've tore a set of rear springs apart to add a leaf.Maybe someone here will chime in on where you can get a set
