Default 2005 Ram HEMI, exhaust question

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram with the HEMI. Its all stock right now and would like to spice up the exhaust with true duals. I went to Meidis to get a price quote. It will be $1,100 to get a set of Hooker Headers with Dual Flowmaster 40's on it. Is this a good setup and is this a bad price?

They have a guarantee that it will pass the emission tests, but he could not guarantee that it will not be illegal if its too loud. Are the flowmaster 40's very loud pipes?

And for my last question, Should I go with angled duals coming straight out the back OR get 2 tips coming out of each side?

This is all on a standard cab BTW. Thanks everyone, im new here!

do not go with flomasters unless you want a anoying loud truck . magnaflows are a good choice if you like a low rumble. your choice as far as price i hav no idea as i do my own hut with new headers i would say close in price . and tips are up to you i like slants but i hav straight back duals BTW mine are manaflows and they sound classy

ehh...i wouldn't go with hooker headers but thats just me....also, like ramhunter said, flowmasters are loud and annoying...go with magnaflow, borla, corza, something like that.....i'd look at a set of Pacesetter LT headers personally....i love mine

on my 4x4, i have the stock "log" headers with glasspacks...i'm running true duals and it's pretty quite at idle, but has a nice rumble to it when you really get on it, i have the tips coming straight out the back

If you have to have headers, go for Ceramic Coated Gibsons, way nicer.

and for muffler(s) have a look at DynoMax as well, they are kind of in-between Magnaflow & Flowmaster.

I dont have header but I do have Flowmaster 50 HD. Sounds great outside but the drone in the cab is annoying enough to make me want to go back to OEM.

Really? I have an '04 and FM50HD and have no drone whatsoever, now I do have LT headers, but I never noticed a drone before either.
I'd be curious to know what is different...

I have true duals no h or y pipe going into a FM super 44 duel 2.5" in/dual 3.0"out with a set of glass packed tips that dump before the axle and a set of cutouts before that, and i wouldn't change a thing!!!!!!
