Get an electric cutout. It is the best exhaust set up I have ever had. I can be loud when I want to be and when I am driving around the neighborhood I can close it up and quiet it down a little. If you are really looking for something loud you want a cutout.

when i had my 4.7 i just took the muffler out and replaced it with a peice of pipe....actually sounded pretty good lol.......umm, i'd look at magnaflow maybe gibson too....gibson usually has some pretty decent deals on cat-back exhaust systems

I have the same engine and I will be going witht he Gibson. It gives a nice growl to it and is not too aggresive. A cold air intake will help with the sound as well.

I have a Magnaflow muffler on my truck (2005 4.7) and it sounds really nice. Im sure that it would sound, and better with a cat back system on it, but if you really want to go all out, then I say go with a Borla. IMO those are the best sounding exhausts out there, and they boots performance as well.... unlike noisemasters. <= read as "flowmasters"

not sure if this is the right place to ask a question like this but... i will anyways. i recently put a CAI on my 07 4.7 after driving with it for a couple days i def def. realized a boost in performance and mileage. very impressed. after that i decided to put on a flowmaster hushpower system in the exact same spot the stock muffler was in but with a small dump goin down. after that install obviously she sounded awesome but i feel like im losing a little giddy up and gas mileage has gone down significantly(from what my mileage gauge is telling me anyways). my thoughts were....not enough backpressure? idk....i'm sure a seasoned vet could shed some light on my issue. have pics just in case. thanks

To the OP:
Look at the Cherry Bomb mufflers, I'm going to replace my Flowmaster 50HD with a Cherry Bomb Vortex here before too long. For a more aggressive note, the Cherry Bomb Extreme will wake the neighbors for sure. They have sound clips on their web site.

To alleycat:
Flowmaster mufflers are really getting a bad rep for their lack of "flow", and the few dyno's I've seen are kinda confirming this. As stated, I'm looking to ditch my 50HD. I bought into their marketing of "engineered especially for the new Dodge Hemi" when I got my truck in '04. It was the second mod I ever did before the truck was a month old.
