Default Tire Advice

I am going to upgrade to 20" wheels and tires (06 3/4 ton MEGA 4X4) I mostly drive on the poorly made interstates of and rarely go off road (but you never know) I am looking to smooth out the ride some but still get max miles out of the rubber. anyone got some advice on something that will fit the bill and still ware evenly?

Just going from 17's to 20's will be a bit stiffer ride no doubt. Your on a heavy frame and your gonna need a 10ply tire which again is going to make your ride rougher given the smaller sidewall. The LTZ's are a Cross mix tread but is stil considered an AT tire. It has a 520 treadwear rating! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-NEW...spagenameZWD1V

Nitto Teragrappler is a E rated and 10ply tire and I've got them on my truck 275/65 R20 and I love them I have 9,500 mi. on them now and show no wear on them. I have them rotated and ballenced every 3,000 mi. so I think theyll last at least three more years. Have not had them a year untill April.

Going to 20 inch rims is going to hurt your ride quality, not help it, especially on a truck that heavy. Get some nice 17s or 18s, put Terra Grapplers on em and enjoy. Just my $0.02

Hell I have Nitto Mud Grapplers, with around 6000 miles and the fronts barely have any indication of wear.. the backs are different story, but its my fault "Burning out" and other horse play.. but i dont recomend them.. id say go Terra Grappler. Pro comp also makes some good all terain tires..
Also if you go with the Terra Grapplers, make sure you get The "E" range, because they have "XL" and "D" range also.
For a 275/65R20 looking at $263 = a lil over 34"
For a 305/55R20 your looking at $323 alil over 33"

Then you have pro comp extreme all terain
and the Pro comp radial all terain < has a 50000 mile tread wear guarantee, but i didnt really see anything in a 20" with a "E" range around 33" or 35"

Thank you. Sounds like I have some looking to do, but some good intel here, sounds like 20' is going to make the ride harder not smother, what about some better shocks (with out giving away load ability) and match that to a 17' or 18' ???
