I'm sure all of you know that when a dual exhaust is mated to a sixer, mixed reviews may arise. My Ram has the Flowmaster 40 series and I would recommend it without delay. But, it sounds very nasal-y (dont know how else to explain it) at higher RPM but sounds like an eight at cruising and idle. I was wondering if there is anyway to reduce this whine-y sound? Wanted to bring my question to the ram peeps! Just a thought.
i have a flowmaster 40 series on my V6 too and i dont know to describe it either. derrick the local moderator said the 50 series sounds better with less of that V6 sound. all i know is that headers wouldnt help according to him
i know that with a turbo or super charger it has a deeper sound and with normal motors it will have a high pitch sound to it but im use to cars cause i had a 420WHP EVO X
hmmm from my expeirence flowmasters are more raspy. there a higher pitch raspy noise than a magnaflow.. i have a magnaflow on my truck with a straight pipe exhaust out and its sounds deep and bawlsy.. IMO Flowmaster is only good for v8s if u want a high rattling raspy sound, the magnaflow is a deeper tone and sounds great..
