5.7 and Synthetic...
OK guys! I did it! I'm gonna make the switch from regular 5-30 to full synthetic 5-30. I need help though. I am completely new to the synthetic oil. Is it OK to just dump the old stuff out and put the new synthetic in? Or do you have to flush it or something else? Also, How long do you guys go before changing the synthetic? I have always religiously changed the oil in our cars at 3 months/3K. Whatcha think? Oh also, I have an oil pressure sensor to replace. Any input on how to go about that? Or any advice?
Thanks guys

Yea don't do what this guy is doing...30k on an oil change is ridiculous. I guarantee your engine is sludged all to hell..

The oil pressure sensor is threaded into the block right under the power sterring pump. Pull it out, put in the new one and enjoy a working engine.
I haven't don it, But I am about to change from dino oil and goto RP. I just found a local supplier for it, So in about 2K miles I will. just drain the oil out, Pull the filter and put in the new oil and filter. Replace the next 2 changes at the regular 3K mile interval, After that you can extend your changes a little. The leftover oil in the engine doesn't hurt the engine at all.
PS, If you are burning oil at all, get it fixed before you goto synthetic, The synth oil is a bit more solvent than dino, otherwise you are home free.
