forget the hemi. i hate that engine. there's nothing hemi about it. that stupid MDS crap is gonna be a pain in the ***.

get a 4.7 liter. Ship that engine to have someone throw EVERYTHING on it. That might cost a few grand, but hey, the engine's free. Forget the fuel injection, throw a carb on there. Done. If you're just gonna throw a stock engine in there, why waste the time.

where did you get a free 4.7! but yeah go with the 4.7, its very similar to the 3.7. the 5.7 is too big a difference and youre gonna need a lot of extra work to do to fit it in. plus the 4.7 gets about the same fuel economy as the V6

well...a carb would be cheaper than a huge computer to manage the fuel injection. a lot cheaper i bet. tuning = turning a screw until it sounds right...not programming a computer to adjust the lean/richness according to the reading of over 40 different engine sensors.

also, if u DO plan on doing this...what are you doing with the old motor?

Default 3.7 to 4.7

Do you have an automatic or a manual? I've got a 6-speed standard mated to my wimp 3.7L: I'd like to swap it for the 4.7L too. Will it match up with my tranny no problem?
