where can you get a free V8 and can i get one too!
i think the trannys are different. we have a four speed auto or 5 speed manual and the V8s have a 5 speed auto or 6 speed manual for the 4.7

Swapping to the 4.7 may be the easiest since the 3.7 is essentially the same minus 2 cylinders. I don't know about the details, you might want to try asking in the 3rd gen forum for more info or maybe another dodge forum.

i would think that the tranny's would be the same since its a full size truck. if i was going to swap a 4.7 in i might as well swap a 5.7 hemi in it. im just wndering if i can swap the computer and the engine bay wiring harness. i guess the part that makes the trucks run on 4 cylinders is built in to the computer? i dont know if that would be a problem

swap a 4.7 in my opinion.

and if u could get it for free...throw that bitch on an engine stand, and build it p. you can probably get 340 hp out of it.

What he said. get it and build that **** up. You can get impressive numbers out of the 4.7 with the right things done to it. If you can get one you should talk to Airram about what to do. He is the God of 4.7's
