Default 6.1 hemi cam

iv beeen looking at airram.com and they have a 6.1 hemi cam that fits in a 5.7 hemi. im wondering if anyone has done this and if they think it is worth the time and money

from all i've heard, the 6.1 cam is a high end cam, as in makes power at higher RPMs. not suited for pulling the weight of a 5500 lb truck at all. lots of people have installed them, then taken them out shortly after.

The 6.1 cam does make more hp on the top end but loses a good bit of low end torque in our engines. There are many other cams out there that do not have the compromise in power that the 6.1 has. Do some searches and you will find a lot of other cam options that are much better for our trucks.

Very good grasshopper, I see you've read at least one of my posts since you've been here...

Tis' true, a wonderful mid to high end rpm cam, maybe would be worth it in a RCSB 4x2, but not in a heavy truck...

It's becoming apparent that the teacher knows his chit' too. Looks like it might be time the ol' Hammer can finally step back and retire from forum life...

man hammer, if you left the forum you'd be sittin on your *** not doin a damn thing....course wouldn't be much different then now, but i'm with ya in that boat....yeah if your gonna do a cam, take a look at the KRC210....nice gains at low end, perfect for the big boys
