(Sorry, I just had to run with the OP's title for this thread).

More seriously, what kind of "fast" do you want? Sprint? quarter-mile time? Circular track?....
+1 on the what type of speed. I have a 04 4.7l ram and with the govenor upped to 150 mph, I usually stay with the fast crowd on the interstate now because of this. Now I havent topped her out yet but im guessing 125 would be the top because of aerodynamics and power from the engine. Just last week on 78, this yellow Lamborghini and I were going 115-118 together untill I had to get off at my exit. If you want top end, it would be easier to get their then say 1/4 mile times.

Upgrade your tires and rims to be able to compensate for the speed.
Secondly, suspension upgrades are key for hitting bumps and bad road patches at high speeds.
Good luck on whatever you decide.

heh....i had mine pegged at 120 and still goin lol....not smart but hey........if you wanna go fast your gonna have to dump some money into it........obviously forced induction is gonna get ya alot of HP/TQ to get ya down the track.....pulling the engine and completely rebuilding it with lower compression pistons so you can run more boost would help ya out alot too.....and like the others said, head work, cams, etc....

go fast all you want. then kill somebody and try to explain to the family why you needed to go that fast.

i just came from the srt-4 world and somebody died every few months from racing, speeding, or being stupid.

go fast, but do it on the track where people understand and except the risk.

I have to ask, was this the SRT 10 or the hemi you had pegged at 120?
Ignore the guy above, has no right to judge us. I am the guy going 150-160 on my motorcycle with about 15-20 of us in a staggered file. So 115+ in a truck is a cake walk... When we do our "runs" its at very different times to avoid as much traffic as possible.
Also, the only problem I had going that fast was the wind noise, do you get that at all.

Yes. Ignore common sense and the safety and wellfare of other drivers.

I lost a buddy on a motorcycle. He was pissed at his wife and left his apartment on his liter bike in a hurry. He hit a curb and was killed instantly.

If Dodge thought it was safe for the truck to go that fast they would have given it a higher speed limiter. Are your brakes enough to stop you from 115 mph if the need arises? Is your suspension ready to handle a manuever at that speed if something pops up you need to avoid?

Comparing a motorcycle to a truck is worthless. I don't care what you can do on a bike, running a 5000+lbs vehicle that fast in public is stupid.

I have the right to judge you since you are posting on a public forum. I don't risk other people's lives to have fun.

so you never in your LIFE have gone about the speed limit. if you have then you are risking others for breaking the law

no, i usually keep around the speed limit. but still, how is a few mph over the same as double? i'll answer it, its not.

i don't need to prove anything by driving fast.

don't be mad because i disagree with you and your habits. i am simply stating there is no reason to go nearly double the speed limit. if you want to have fun, go to a track.
