I bet they will notice the difference in sound though. I could see mom or dad coming in to the shop, "My truck sounds strange", lol. Besides you do realize a supercharger alone, without upgrading anything else will quickly destroy your drive train. Just to top things off, It won't work that well unless you upgrade your exhaust and fuel system.

If your parents wouldn't go for the hemi, I would be afraid that they would just take your truck away no questions asked the first time they heard from a neighbor or someone you were driving fast...deceiving the parents=probably not going to end good. just my $.02

This:

for quarter miles. Will kill your gas mileage and hurt your top end speed but for 1/4 miles can't go wrong!

Installation of this needs to be done CORRECTLY without error. You will destroy differential if there is too much backlash.

Combine New Cam, With True Dual exhaust with Headers (Probably Longtube), A supercharger, Custom Tune, 4.56 gears, little Spray, Upgrade the fuel system, Upgrade (or replace) the tranny (Manual preferred), slightly smaller tires, Remove anything thats not absolutely required like Passenger seats, A/C, power window motors, etc.. , Smaller gas tank, Port the heads, and I am sure there are things that I am missing. Do all that and you could have an amazingly fast truck.

** Edit** 118 Octane gas, Fiberglass hood for weight, and smaller gas tank again for weight.

**Edit** Of course if someone does stuff like this to Hemi,SRT, or CTD (Yes some of these things can't or don't need to be done to CTD) you wouldn't have a prayer against them.

ok to get your truck FAST youll need ALOT of money....
ported race heads - $1500-$2000
cams-$700-$800
tb $300
headers $450-$500
i would go with single exhaust for performance all the way back- $250-$350
gears 456 - depends on if its 4x4.. $900-$1500
nice low compression ross pistons/rings and a forged crank- $2000
sct tuner with custom tune - $500ish
forced induction - at least $3500-$5000
tq converter -
efan - $300

you have no wspent well over $10,000 to get yiour truck in the low 14 maybe high 13s. checkout airram.com ( hes also a member on here his truck is in 15s range with alot of work done to it.) really not worth doing all this and because you still live at home an dyour parents bought your the truck you probably do not have the 10,000 to spend and if you did GOOD LUCK explaining how you spent $10,000 on your truck to your parents. i have spent a about $1000 on performance mods and im still in stock ballpark. no way to make this fast for cheap. i owuldnt spray the 4.7l cant imagine it would be able to handle much ( most likely will only be able to handle 5 lbs of boost with stock internals. with new pistons, rods, crank, cams, heads you can probably triple that without a problem. although the stock tranny cannot really hold much power either.

PS- no need to have e-fights about speed and whos at fault. THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO ARGUE OR CAUSE DRAMA.... no need for forum police letting us know that the speed limits are really really slow..... page 2 should just be deleted

That reminds me when I put on my 40 series muffler and there was such a deep tone my mom and step-dad noticed it sounded a lot louder since I obv. switched mufflers w/o them knowing. Everytime my mom mentions the tone of the truck my response is loud pipes save lives..

You are probably right about the noise. But im not sure what you mean about upgrading the fuel system. I have a flowmaster exhaust on it now.

the more mods you add the more fuel it is going to need.

Oh ok, thanks. What do you think about computer chips? They are a little pricy for not a whole lot of HP. But they do get rid of the govenor (truck tops out at 105 cause of it).
