I want to make my Dodge fast, really fast
Real world? You want to talk about the real world. I work 7 days a week cause everyone else in the rest. is a complete idiot. In 4 months I ship off to Marine Corps basic training. I want to have a little fun before I go out and kill someone. You say this is pointless, whats pointless is people telling me to get ahold of the real world. Ive got a good grip, got a great future ahead and want to defend YOUR freedom. Going fast is one of the only things I want to do before I go. This is the real world for me. MY real world.
Good luck and i HOPE and PRAY you come home in 1 piece if your goin to the catbox.
Not sure what the gears are now. What ever comes stock.
So if the gears have to spin more how would that make the truck faster? It seems like the drive shaft shouldn't have to do as much work on spinning to get the tires going.
Get a buildsheet by taking your your vin to dealership or emailing them. That will tell you alot about your truck. With that said, One thing to remember, The lighter your truck the faster it can take off and go. Also Higher gears means lower top speed but faster take off speed.
I have seen extremeists order custom fiberglass made beds for trucks, Infact I have seen one or two take off there bed entirely for the track. However you need some weight directly over the wheels.
One thing that should be asked, do you want to keep this truck street legal? Because if your not worried about street legal, There is a whole list of mods that opens up.
With that said, three things I forgot, MSD ignition, ported throttlebody, Highstall torque converter. And do they make Shiftkits for the trannies that come in the 4.7?
BTW, Sure a truck can make it to the 12's its just hard as hell to do.

The owners manual isnt vehicle specific. its like Dodge combined the 1500, 2500 and 3500 into one book.

not the owners manual. there should be a sticker in the glove box. on the bottom of it.
I looked in it, around it, under it, everywhere. Even insinde the door panel. Couldnt find what youre talking about. I have the VIN # and Im going to get a build sheet like someone suggested.
ok i guess someone took it off bc its in mine. yea just request a build sheet and you will find out
