Why not concentrate more on what living in the real world is like and what you can do for yourself rather than try pulling 1 over on mommy and daddy? A lil more self fulfilling IMO.

 

keep in mind that the more gear you put in, the higher the rpm's will be on highway cruising and the less gas mileage you will get. you will also lose some off the top speed off the truck.

 

i was going to say something of the same effect, but i already opened my big fat mouth in this thread and i am not trying to make enemies on my new favorite forums. i am staying out of this territory.

you could save your money and then ask your parents to let you spend it on a nice supercharger in another 6 months to a year.

 

Real world? You want to talk about the real world. I work 7 days a week cause everyone else in the rest. is a complete idiot. In 4 months I ship off to Marine Corps basic training. I want to have a little fun before I go out and kill someone. You say this is pointless, whats pointless is people telling me to get ahold of the real world. Ive got a good grip, got a great future ahead and want to defend YOUR freedom. Going fast is one of the only things I want to do before I go. This is the real world for me. MY real world.

 

So you think you are going to go kill people with the Marine Corps huh? You think that we don't know about the "real world"? I have 9 years of active service in the military, a wife, a kid, and another kid on the way. Tell me something I don't know about this "real world" of yours.

If you only have four months to mod the truck, why don't you not waste your money on it, buy a new truck (HEMI) after you start getting a military paycheck, and mod it? You'll be setting yourself up for success then.

And before you start calling others idiots you should check to make sure you use the correct punctuation.

 

Aftermarket chips take off that top speed. Right now top speed is at 105 cuz of the computer. If I were to get a chip and the gears, top speed should increase because of the chip but not as much as it should because of the gears?

 

Its just the way this guy is putting it. The truck I have now is an early graduation present from the parents and I don't want to be rude to them and trade it in for something better. I dont want to accept a nice gift and then get rid of it.

 

i would get the chip first. i just got the superchips 3815 and love it. noticed the power right away. what gears do you have right now?

 

no, no, no. the computer increases the top speed but now the drive shaft has to spin more times for the wheels to spin once. going from a 3.55(?) to a 4.56 means the driveshaft has to spin one more time then previously to make the tires spin once.
