I love my 2500. extremely happy i went with the 2500 instead of an F-150 or a 1500. dont wanna get stuck with a 1500 then think "damn, shoulda got that 2500"
thats strange, i thought smaller tires always mean better mpg. 2" is a lot. i didnt know what type of tires you have make such a big diff
Generally yes, However Mud Terrains have a different Bias, And a very aggressive tread. They produce alot more friction and are loud on pavement because of that friction.
You want an All Terrain Tire unless you will be traveling offroad Alot.
i didn't bother reading thru all 3 pages, so sorry if this was already said.
based on your criteria, i would say 1500. in some cases, they are cheaper to insure. for your specifications (no lift, 33" tires, no serious off-roading) a 1500 would be more than adequate. realistically the only reason you need a 2500 is for plowing, lifting, 35"+ tires, and hauling. if you don't plan to do that, you don't need one.
from what you say you do occasional towing and not a lot of hard work... 1500 is just fine.. if you do towing very often once a week or more maybe and like to haul a lot in the bed often i'd go 2500.
