Truck Randomly Dies
yeah it idles really rough, I did sea foam on it and it was good for like a day. Where is the throttle position sensor at?
I would check into the IAC valve. Idle Air Control Valve. The fords had a lot of problems on their modular motors with excess carbon build-up. It would cause the plunger-needle to stick and give hesitant and irratic idle, stalling as engine rpms get lower(slowing down)and hard starting.
Now on those, they could be taken off and cleaner or just replaced for $25 at NAPA. However, I did a check and I can only find IAC's for the Ram's up until 2003? Maybe you don't have one? Dealer only item? It would be bolted to your throttle body same as your throttle position sensor is. It will look like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...spagenameZWD1V
