Default Lights when trucks in reverse

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad-cab Daytona Edition. Was trying to get some ideas about what to install so i can see when i reverse. Bought 2 55w bulbs to go in the reverse lites and that did not do anything. Was looking at the white lite reverse kit that goes in the hitch for plug and play option but did not know if it was worth the expensive price? Was going to put fog lites on back but do not want it the truck to look ugly. ALso was told that water gets into them easily so they have to be replaced all the time due to them being plastic. Any ideas would be helpful. Their is a tint on the back window part of reason why i need a way to see when i back-up. New to site and appreciate all the help in advance. Thanks

ever think about getting one of those rear mounted cameras? not only would it help ya to see when backing up, but it'd make hooking up to a trailer a one man affair.....not sure about pricing on it tho

I installed an infrared (night vision) back up camera for the same reason and it works good. I think the camera only cost me about 20 dollars but I already had my indash dvd monitor to use for the monitor so i did not need to buy one.

I put one of these on my truck mostly for the look but could not beleive all the light that comes off it when you put it in reverse it has white LED's for back up lights and they are bright. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...?Ntt=light+bar

if you look in the faqs, there is a write up on some recon backup lights. they look pretty sweet to me. but recons are probably also sorta pricey. you get what you pay for.

I have these: http://http://www.gorecon.com/produc...ights&p_cat=46
And the write up is here somewhere. I'm happy with the quality of the recon's. And as far as I know the 10% DF discount still works. Type in code: dodgeforum.
