Nitrogen in Tires...New Thread
that's what i'm thinking. It's too much of a coincidence for it to not be whatever they filled the tire with, but nitrogen doesn't do that. I'm thinking they cracked open the wrong bottle...
Yeah I don't buy that the nitrogen had anything to do with it. I can only see one advantage to nitrogen in a car/truck. That would be for one that is hardly used. The nitrogen molecules are larger than the oxygen molecules and won't "seep" through the rubber tire wall over time. This is the reason tires have lower air when a vehicle sits for a while.
You use your vehicle on a fairly regular basis, then yep, nitrogen is a waste of money...

They can't crack open the wrong bottle? Every tank is specifically labeled and besides, Almost all Nitrogen fill stations are Green. They have specific adapters for the tanks and so forth.
yea and they steal your chrome caps and put cheap green ones on your plug. I guess its a regulation or something.
All of your info makes perfect sense, and theoretically you are all right. I'm still blaming the nitrogen for my blowouts and am not wasting my money on it again haha, thats $530 on tires for me and almost $200 for the wife, i gotta have some explanation for it other than just "hitting stuff"

yeah they filled the tires up on my 22" with nitrogen and i have never had a problem with it.....after the tires were mounted, they sat in my living room all winter untill spring and never had to put air in them....this winter, they've been on the truck all winter and hasn't moved an inch and they have just as much air in them now as they did when i parked it....i can't say that i have any compliants about it...sorry bout your luck tho
