Default I hate this surging/jerking light throttle!

Ok, I have a 2004 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi. I have the superchips 3815 other than that the truck is stock with about 66k miles. At light throttle in first and second gear I get a surging/jerking abrupt accelerating. I've notice it more when it's cold, but I guess it is random as I am getting it more often. If I accelerate or drive faster, it goes away. But if I am slowly driving like in a parking lot or leaving a stop sign that is when I get that problem.

I have experienced this problem with the 87 tune and the performance tune. I don't remember if I had this issue before I did the superchips.

Can anyone relate to this? Can anyone help me? I guess it's kinda hard to explain. Hopefully some of you have experienced this and will know how to help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Do the update and re-install. I have NEVER experienced the issue on my '04, have never had problem #1 with the SC, other than the fact I'm gonna need a custom tune and the bastards did an about face when MSD bought them out and abandoned custom tunes.
But the emergence of Diablo and SCT as major players has awakened Superchips, I think. The latest tune took a long time to download compared to other updates and it felt like a LOT more of TM is gone after I installed it and took it for a test drive yesterday.
Remove the tune if you still have the issue and see what it does stock. If it's the tune (and I've learned that Dahmler used many different PCMs with many different tunes from the factory, it's like no two trucks off the line are exactly alike, so two of the "same" trucks can indeed behave differently with the same aftermarket tune), get in touch with SC, there support can be a little slow, but when they get on your issue(s), they usually stay right on it until the problems been resolved...

You didn't report that at all when you first installed the tuner, just started noticing it?

So you are saying the XS tune that didn't do it before, is doing it now? I don't see how that's possible. Code is code...

I'm not doubting you, but just trying to logically see how that could be possible...

Thanks guys. I think I will try to update my SC online. If that does not work I will return to stock and see if it goes away. I hope I can get it to stop doing that, I have a long towing trip planned for next weekend.

yea it's f'n with my head too for the same reason. The only difference is that I changed shift points when I went to the 91, so it might very well be that the code it wrote for the new shift points had a flaw?

I think I just did something bad. I hooked up my superchips tuner to my PC and did an update. BUT I did not return my truck to stock before doing this. And I think now my tuner erased my stock map. When I hooked up the tuner to the truck today it said I had the stock settings. But I did not, I had the 91 performance tune on it before I updated the tuner. How will I get a stock map now if I lost it?

And I tried to load the performance tune again and I am still experiencing my jerking acceleration at light throttle. I guess I will have to take a video of this maybe it is something else.
