Default Exhaust help

I have some questions regarding exhaust systems. Any help would be much appreciated considering I know nothing about exhaust systems.

Will I get any improved performance if all I get is a new flowmaster or magnaflow muffler?? Or does performance only come with a full on exhaust system?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/dodge...Q5fAccessories

If I got the above system off ebay would it be something I could easily install myself without having to do any welding or anything too difficult?? If I would need to professionally installed any approximate guesses on how much it would cost?
If I got this system would it be easy for me to eventually put a real flowmaster muffler on it? What about different exhaust tips?

Thanks guys!

If you are looking for performance, stay away from the flowmaster, and this is coming from the owner of a Flowmaster 50HD! They have great sound, but often flow worse than the stock muffler.
Magnaflow would be a much better choice, and you won't have to worry so much about the drone in the cab with your MDS as much as with a Flowmaster.

You'll receive some performance/mpg benefit from just a muffler, but it would be minor, not noticeable except for with a dyno.

You'll see much better results if you do a cat-back system and a CAI or at least a higher flowing drop in filter...

that ebay ad isnt even for a flowmaster. it says one that is nearly identical to one. they just show the box to get you to buy it. as for installing one, it is not hard at all
