Default Fastman Ported TB for the 5.7

Just installed my new ported tb from Fastman this morning and I like what is has done for my truck. After installing the tb I noticed a nice bump in throttle response in regular driving. The throttle is noticeably snappier than it was with the stock tb. Just a light touch of the gas and the truck is going. This mod is a nice addition to the other mods that I am currently running. I took a couple of pics to show the difference in size between the stock tb and the modified tb. You can see exactly how much material was removed to modify the new tb.

Here is the stock TB.

This is the modified TB.

Here they are side by side.

Where did you get it? What was the cost? Do you think something like this would make a difference for a truck without a programmer?

Nice...I had one ported in my old car and noticed some gain too. But i'm not going to get one for my truck because of the electronic throttle body. I dunno how many miles are on the one they'd send me and mine only has 14k on it...last thing I want is the little motor going out.

dan really makes a quality product at thefastman.com hes really nice and very good to work with and i wouldnt worry about how many miles are on the one hes sending you because it completely redone he uses new butterflies and springs and other such wearable items i bought one from him for myy 99 and it was like the 3rd mod after exhaust and intake so i wouldnt worry about an unmodded truck it will still give you a good bump as for the programmer u can still use it itll work fine im sure ill be getting one sometime here....as i shoulda called and traded my 50mm for a 70mm for this truck as it was only 6mths old but....

Is that all he does is port out the air intake hole? Doesn't replace the plate or anthing else? It surprises me that would make really any difference at all.

My wife gave it to me for my birthday. She got it from fastman.com, he is a really good guy and makes nice products. Since I didn't buy it I am not sure of the cost but I believe there are two options. You can send in your original tb and he will port it for you and send it back. I think that is around $75. The second option is what I got, he buys a brand new tb from the dealer and ports it out for you and your application. I believe this costs around $175.

I think this mod would make a difference on almost any of our trucks. It just takes out one more restriction (or at least lessens it) of the flow path that the air takes while traveling through our engines.

He ports out the one that you send him so you wouldn't have to worry about how many miles are on the one you get back. Or you could go the route that I went and just get him to port a brand new tb for you.

I thought the same exact thing when I first heard about it, but then there were a group of guys who did it and said that it made a nice improvement. I was still skecptical until I put it on this morning but now I am convinced. It does make a nice improvement in the throttle response of the truck. Just don't expect it to turn the truck into a rocket.

There are still the restriction at the plate, and after the TB, Thats why i am a skeptic. With that said, this summer when I get up on the rack to do my true duals with LT headers, I may pull my TB and take it to a machine shop and have them port it for me.

Another thing I am wondering about, Does anyone know of any just plain bigger TB's that will fit the hemi's? Maybe the SRT's they probably have a pretty large TB or even maybe the one off the new Hemi sports cars? That, If you could find one should make a fairly large difference, Especially with a CAI. Has anyone ever explored this avenue?

Btw, Do you have a custom progammer on your stuck, Or are you running the stock?

I am running the SC 91 tune. I am hoping that the TB relearn feature is released soon since it would be nice to shorten the learning curve for the truck with this tb on there now.
