Hoss, buddy, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the uselessness of a 2wd truck. I've taken my 2wd's lots of places off road. I'm not saying that I can go everywhere a 4by can but quite a bit of it is how you drive it and knowing a good line. I can tell you one of my good friends off roads every other weekend. He has a 4by and gets into some pretty nasty stuff. I can tell you 85% of the time he never has to put it in 4wd. It's all in what you know.
guess it just were i am from, about 70% of the trip i go hunting i slap it in 4x4, but then again i dont play around, i am serious when it comes to hunting to get to the right spots and it has paid off... but we also get about 2-4 feet of snow every year as well,(this past year a grand total of 9 feet of snow) but even though if i lived in florida i would still own a 4x4, and i think 4x4 have better stances IMO, not tryin to dogg 4x2's

Good luck man! Turning a 2X4 into a 4X4 is like repainting the mono-lisa as a man!

I've always wondered if it would be possible to take the tailshaft off of a 545rfe 2wd transmission and put a transfer case behind it ? What would you need to do?
