Feej, MAF? As far as I know, none of our trucks have mass air flow sensors.

well the steering on these trucks are known to be the weakest link so to speak and the lsd's are also known to have problems too. but everyone else is right every brand has its specific issues. best thing you can do is keep up on maintenance and if you have an 04 check those steering racks!!

excellent point

Welcome to the forum. These trucks are just as solid as other trucks. Some of us have problems with them and others can go thousands of miles without a single issue. Also, get up some pics when you get a chance.

I'm completely satisfied with my truck. It runs good (REALLY good), gets decent mileage (for a truck), and hauls what it needs to haul. I even enjoy working on it. That's been easy, too. I was equally satisfied with the Gen 2 Ram I had before.

Bear in mind: People will generally vent and stand on a soapbox about problems more so than they will when they're satisfied with a product -- and that's too bad. Folks who tend to go on and on about how happy they are are considered "fanboys"

I have an '05 and the dude i bought it from knows nothing, I mean NOTHING, about vehicles, in fact when i bought it he didn't even know it needed an alignment, and it was pretty bad, but the only things are shocks, brakes, and some basic maintenance items w/ 100k and a guy whose doesn't know how to do upkeep, it's not bad. Also wha't this about the steering racks, i may have a developing problem with that.

ya I have to say these trucks are built pretty well, and in my opinion really are the diamond in the rough when it comes to chrysler products. At work we commision chevy's (not my choice) and they have sooo many problems its ridiculous. especially the 03-06's. terrible trucks.

i swear by lucas power steering fluid fix.
ive had two power steering pumps shoot craps on me on 2 different trucks. i drained half the p/s fluid and replaced with lucas p/s fluid / stopleak or what ever its called.
it brought both pumps back from the dead and i never had problems with them after that.

the racks in the early 3rd gens are KNOWN to be one of the the worst parts of these trucks. if your lucky you can catch them leaking early around 30-40k miles and replace them before disaster strikes. most people replace them when they find em leakin, but ive heard of a few who had basically had them snap goin down the highway, its not fun. ive replaced both of mine so far and its not cheap either.
