Sub Box HELP!!!!
I have a box under my seat with two 10's. The box is not ported. I took my sisters box with the same sub but diff shape box that was ported and it sounded way better! If I was to port my box would it sound better???
Depends. You need a whole lot more air space when port a box. Where did you get your box? How much air space does your box have? What kind of subs are you running? What amp? lots of factors.
Dirty?!?! where are you?!?!
Dirty?!?! where are you?!?!
Porting a box isn't as easy as drilling holes in it. Ports have to be a certain size and depth. The size and depth are what determine the tuning of the box. If the tuning is wrong then it can make the subs sound like crap or even damage them. For a good ported box I suggest you check out foxacoustics.com.
Im going to have to say a new box, without even knowing what you have. You can have cheap subs, put in the right box, with the right, they are going to sound pretty good, not amazing, but pretty good.
On the other hand, you can take some bad som-beaches, and put em in a box that isnt designed correctly, and they are going to sound like 'pyle' of ****e.... anybody catch that one?
Anyways, start with a new box, if you can have somebody build it that knows whats going on, or you build it yourself. Boxes arent that hard to make, just take your time, do your research, and TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!
