okay guys, i have a question for some of the guys that have tinkered with these rams a lil more than most. I found a gorgeous 2006 1500 ram laramie that im aboslutely in love with, only problem is im 6'10 and 250 lbs. When im driving it the shifter is sitting right on top of my knee in drive. Dropping into a lower gear isn't even a possibility.

I was wondering if there is some kit, or something you can do to the joint on the shifter that re positions the angle that the shifter is at so it doesn't come down so low?

I would also look into maybe lowering the seat or making it go back a little farther to lower your knee. I am thinking I seen kits for doing that as well I will look to see if I can find them again.

 

Was just going to sk if it had power adjustable seats... You have 5" on me but I have a ton of leg room left in my 05'. That being said there should be a replacement **** for it but you will have to tear apart your stearing columb to get to it or remove it and rebend it to a custom angle (I believe that the shifter is metal) and reinstall it. Either way it wont be fun.

 

I believe they make seat relocation kits for situations like this. I'll see if I can find you a link.
