I figured out how to get the inserts out, Stihl makes a tool for it.

But no really, I just drilled them and got replacements from the stealership. Thanks for the help guys.

Thats ridiculous. Im half tempted to go down to home depot, and get a dozen small nuts and bolts, and start ratcheting away. That way all I have to do take take em out again is... UNBOLT!!! But It would probably look hokey. I still want to see a picture of what my silver grill will look like.

Soo...i got a chrome factory gril insert to put on my truck last week...and i like to have things on had, so i called my local dealer to see if they had the rivets there...they do. for $4.60 A PIECE!!!!! Yes sir, that is correct, $4.60 a piece. I had to see this for myself. Sooo, I drove there cause its up the street from my house. Sure enough, they are the right ones. So i start laughing, and the parts guy starts laughing and apologizing for the price.

then, he offers them to me at their cost, $2.97!!! what a F#$%in steal! I kept laughing all the way out the door and told him i would definitely figure something else out, he said he didnt blame me. sorry just had to vent. Now i gotta wait to do the grill til tomorrow....arghhhhh. ill try tapping them out like suggested, but I killed one of em already lol.

I actually just did mine last night, it was a real PITA but I only broke two rivets in the process. I found that a small torx driver works great to press the center pins through.
Good Luck!
