Mudflaps or no?
i have the OEM mudflaps on my truck. i just replaced the mounting hardware with stainless. when i pulled the back ones off i noticed all the small nicks and scratches in the wheel "fling" area on the flaps. by the looks of it i guess they saved a bunch of dings on the paint.
if you're runnin bigger/wider tires that stock i would reccomend them. saves a lot of knicks and chips from rocks and whatnot. I would deffinetly reccomend putting them on if you are regularly driving on a road/highway they lay cinders instead of salt on in the winter..
I took 'em off. Whenever someone starts to tailgate, I just start driving over the crap on the side of the road... which gets kicked up all over whoever was following too close. Works every time
I just went and took mine off. Since i'm making it into more of a street truck, they didn't look right lol. I'm a little bit worried about rocks and all the tar when they redo all the roads soon.
You could make the flaps a seasonal thing. They're easy enough to put on and remove.
i used a 1/4" drive to remove the carbon steel hexhead screws that were holding my mudflaps on. i slipped a phillips bit on the driver to reinstall and replace the fasteners with stainless (phillips head) ones. i did not remove the tires but i only have the 265 tires. im not sure if there are predrilled holes on your truck being that mudflaps were on when i got the truck it. of course you would need to remove the wheels to fit a drill in there. just my 2 cents
