repair question

Default repair question

I've got a 07 Dodge slt. I've got a horrible knocking noise coming from the rear end anytime I turn. it even does it when i'm going down the road..it feels like something is about to fall off the rear of my truck. it started doing this today. also, when I put it in reverse and start to back up, it will slip out of gear. does this sound like something that is covered un powertrain warranty? if so, what does it sound like?

rear differential is going out. i wouldnt drive it anymore except to the dealer. it should be covered under warranty

Yeah, the transmission and rear differential are both considered part of the power train. I was originally thinking LSD after your first sentence, but with the slipping out of gear, I'm more inclined to think more about linkage between the tranny and transfer case...
