K&N says that their kit will give a gain of 8hp. Not alot for the money. They all gain about the same.
Never used a SC tuner, so I can't help you there.
For the very little extra that it does, its not worth the extra $100 over the flashpaq. I just got mine and I have a 4.7 and there is a noticeable difference right away. Plus the ability to read and clear DTC's is nice and could save a lot of $$$ in diagnostics and it allows you to read PID like timing, AIT, MAF and a digital temp read out. Nice things to have if your trying to troubleshoot a problem.

There was a guy on here about a month ago that said the cortex could do alot of other things that the flashpaq can't like reading additional data logging parameters along with having a "super tune" that was coming out. But according to Scott at SC all that it does which is different than the flashpaq is this....

I remember that, and if you don't download the data logging from the site when you update, you won't have it on the flashpaq either. But like I said, for $100 more, I don't think its worth it.
