Default Fuel gauge off?

I tried searching the forum couldn't really find anything. So all im wondering is should my fuel gauge be showing empty when i have 22 litres left in the tank. I usually dont let it get that low it just recently happened and i went and filled it up and it only needed 76 litres and i have a 98 litre tank. Is this just kind of a percaution thing dodge has added or is my guage offa little. Seems to me i should still have nearly 1/4 of a tank showing if it was working properly.

i don't know if the 3rd gen is more accurate, but i changed the fuel pump on my 95, and i took the gauge down to almost below E, and when i took the tank off, it had 8 gals of fuel in it.

sorry, but when your saying litres, im imagining bottles of dr. pepper rolling around in your tank. Here in hic town Bakersfield, we use gallons as a measure for fuel. I just thought I would share that.

When you drive, the fuel sloshes, and your gauge will give you and average of what i thinks it has. I always try to guess how much my truck is going to take when I fuel up, but it always takes a little more. If the truck were to sit still for a little while, you would get a more accurate reading.

My truck always sits still i barely ever drive it lol. and i live in the praries so its not like its that hilly. I always seem to put less in then i think i'll have to and as for the litre gallon thing 20 litres is about 4.5 gallons

On mine, at 1/4 tank left, I put in about 20 gallons each time. Today it was a little lower than 1/4 left, and it was about 19.6 gallons that I put in. I like it saying there is less than I have, because I don't want to run out of fuel.

The way I've always understood it was that most cars and trucks are designed to go about 50 more miles, give or take, once the fuel light comes on... so I'm thinkin' that's about right.

I've actually run mine out of gas before, just to see how far I could go... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
