i actually just did my first oil change yesterday (not the trucks first change). I saw the filter way the crap up above everything and knew it was bad news. I got a trash bag and laid it over all the components underneath the filter. Same idea as the sandwich bag... Either way, the dodge engineers need kicked in the head

put a rag down and over most stuff and use a ziploc bag.. just break it loose so you can turn it by hand then put the bag over it unscrew and just let if fall into the bag tada

When I did mine the other day, I just let the oil get all over the place. Hell, I already spilled some from the drain pan so I had kind of lost my concern for the driveway at that point.

The pressure washer easily solved the problem.

I found a thing for 99c at Walmart near the oil that looks basically like a wee-pad you use when training dogs. It's absorbent on one side, and has a plastic liner on the other. I just put it up under the oil filter on top of the cross member, and let the oil drip where ever it wanted to. Once I had the filter replaced, I pull the pad off and throw it away - no mess. I suppose you could use a real wee-pad or diaper in the same way.
