Question "Mods"? For 35's

Well, I just bought it, done some mods, but now I need to figure out my next step!

Leveling Kit fits what size tire? 33 are stock, so 35's? Is it stuffed and crowded or look clean?

Or just do a 4-6'' lift with 35's. I've always had 33's or 35's on all my jeeps and rover. I think 37's look great and are sweet in the snow, but not so practicle for a daily driver, especially for the stock 3.92 ring and pinion/gears. I know the Hemi can handle 37's and not loose to much power but dont know about the axle shafts and cv's? + poor gas miledge!

So lets stick with 35's. Any tips would be great. Leveling kit is budget friendly and probably will do for now with the stock tires (275-60-20). I think I want to keep the stock 20's and just get some wheel spacers, these whells look sweet. THANKS

A level kit will fit 35's if you have the right wheels (about 4.5" of backspacing needed) or wheel spacers. However, if you plan on taking off road, there really isn't enough room for any articulation, so it's really a "for looks" thing.

Either a level kit in combination with a 3" body lift or, for the ultimate off-road performance then just a suspension lift (4" is plenty for 35s) would be the ticket for you.

However, you'll find that the Hemi is a great mid/high HP engine, but just average in the low end torque department. As such, you will HATE 35's with the stock 3.92 gears. All with that combo have either gone to 4.56s or wish they had the coin to!!!

Good call on stopping with 35's, CV's can't handle the extreme angle most 6" suspension kits put on them, especially with 37" tires...

No body lifts for me and I am an avid wheeler, so I hate stuffing any tire for looks, so it does sound like a 4'' with 35 will be ok. Is there good clearence with this set up? 4.56 seems way to low for a daily driver, what about 4.10's? Dont got the coin right now so if its a slug with 35's, then I'll wait and just do gears and tires at the same time. Maybe for now a leveling kit with some 33's and wheel spacers. I dont know what back spacing these stock 20's have, so what wheel spacer is good enuf for a nice wide stance? 1'', 2'', ?? Thanks for the tips. Beenn wheelin my hole life, but new to these trucks, hence the newbie questions that have been beat up here.

You'd be amazed at how "streetable" these trucks are with 4.56s. The 545rfe basically has two overdrives, they are very under-geared. The Hemi has a "sweet spot" right between about 2000 and 2400 rpm, actually giving not only much better performance in this zone, but amazingly, a bit better gas mileage in this zone than below it. You'll find, as most do, much better city mileage with 4.56s and won't really start to lose much fuel economy on the interstates until you get up over 75 mph cruising speed.

I'm not a fan of spacers, but a good set of 17's (I also HATE 20" wheels for wheeling, not enough sidewall for any flex) with the right backspacing and you'll have a nice aggressive look with 12.5" wide tires.

You'll have plenty of room for wheel travel with 4" of suspension lift and the CV angles will not be so severe as to have off-road problems that a 6" suspension lift would give you. My 4" Rancho lift has plenty of room for flex with 35's on 17" wheel and the 4.53" offset gives it just the right stance IMO.

I agree with the 20's for wheelin but I can do wheels right now so I'm stuck with these. Very nice wheels but just dont sit wide enough. I'm just deciding budget wise, keep the wheels, 1-2'' wheel spacers, and leveling kit. Your truck does have a good stance, and those 35's look fine with a 4'' lift. I like a little more clearence than that, but you said a 6'' lift is a little to hard on the cv angle? What are the problems that come with that? I dont know anything about independent suspension. I've always had trail rigs. I know some cheap lifts dont drop the center so steep angle and you ware out the cv's. Are ther 6'' lifts that do a better job for this reason? I know, I know, I'll learn these things soon. I'll do some research.
