Default cant locate this squeak

Dont know if its my fan clutch going or if its this used power steering pump i just put in. When I put my ear up to the front of the truck it sounds like its coming from behind the radiator. Constant squeak, changes with rpm, very annoying

Could it be the belt? Try spitting on the belt and see if the noise goes away.

I had a squeak like that, sounded like angry sparrows. It ended up being my fan clutch and water pump. Covered under warranty, thank god.

ugh seems like the most practical way to get down to what it is exactly is to take the belt off and spin each accessory hopefully fast enough to get something. I dont think its the belt because it didnt make the noise before I swapped in this new pump. I think its the fan because when I first started it back up the fan blades hit the metal high pressure hose coming from the ps pump, bent the blades a tiny bit but idk if that was enough to mess up the fan clutch. Then again it sounds more like the squeak is coming from the middle of the truck when i put my ear up to the radiator, not off to the right where the pump is. Oh and also the noise will go away sometimes and come back again.

never got around to saying what ever happened with that squeak. Ended up being the belt not properly aligned on the idler pully. cost me $200 to have a new one put on along with a belt. Ripoff...
