Just messin with ya gothemi. I am a mustang fan, but not a nutswinger. Theres plenty of rides that will walk the dog on the fastest stock gt. A hemi ram just isnt one of them....
edit: not that the s197 was the car being talked about, just saying....

different vehicles, different jobs. the Ram does its job well, and so does the mustang. Im not sure why theres so much flaming going around.

As for the Cobra, these came out in 77 followed by the King Cobra in 78. Both Mustang II's.
The Cobra was also available in 79 and 80 for sure.
To each their own. I like the fox body myself, as well as the 67-69, 73-73 and 05-08.
I do not like the 64 1/2-66, 94-04 body styles.
But like them or not, the Mustang is the only pony car to stand the test of time. Yes, the Challenger returned (after 35 years/ Mitsubishi built cars do not count), and the Camaro was canned in 02 for lack of sales is supposedly coming back next year (uglier than ever).
It seems that there are many of us Ram owners who also own Mustangs.
My neighbor has a Fox coupe with a 460 in it. Sounds wicked, haven't seen it go yet though.
I'm partial to my Fox body, because I bought it new in 88. It was one of two left in town when I bought it. The other was a black automatic. I had to have the 5-speed.
It is a very late 88 built July 29,1988. It has a few 89 parts from the factory. The radiator sticker is E9 (89 date code) and it has a plastic hood rod retainer (listed for 89-93). 88's were metal. My friends 89 was built less than a month after mine. So after 21 years, I've grown quite fond of the old girl.
I don't care if anyone else likes it or not. I bought it for me and me only
Don't hate me because I drive a Mustang. It's a car, and only behaves as good or bad as the driver!!

Cannot believe I read all 9 pages of this post. But since I do have a Mustang too, thought I would share my 2 cents. To hate a car because the driver is a douche is like hating watching TV because of a 1 bad show. The Fox body Mustang 5.0 is the single most loved and hated car at the same time. Go to any forum ie. Hemi Rams, tuners, ricers, Camaro, and they all hate Mustangs. They all talk about trying to beat a Mustang. Hummm wonder why that is? Could it be because everyone wants to say they beat a 5.0. We could argue HP to weight but the Mustang is still lighter and would not need as much HP to achieve the same results as the Ram, we could compare HP to HP and the Mustang would be quicker. We could compare mod for mod and the Mustang would still win. There is a reason you see more Mustangs as drag cars than you do Rams. They are easier to mod and less expensive to make faster. I will add a pic of my Mustang, hate on it all you want, I couldn't give a crap if you don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I love the Hemi Rams, but pull yours up to me at the red light and rev on me and I will give you one more reason to hate a Mustang...BTW, the 300 in my sig is a Hemi and it will eat your Ram too....
