Tire Question???
I am getting 3 new tires for my 05 1500 4x4 Ram and the tire that is on there is stock, I went to discount and they asked me if i wanted the white lettering or the black lettering tire they are both Wrangler HP 275/60 20 but the white lettering is 20 dollars cheaper, what is the difference between the two???
As far as the quality of the tire there is no diference. The only difference would cosmetic. Why the whites are cheaper? I ain't sure about that one.. sounds a little backasserds to me but I would go with the cheaper of the 2 and as previously said turn the black wall out if thats what you want.
that's not completely true. there is some other difference between those tires. i had figured it out at some point, but can't remember now.
honestly, if you are getting 3 of the wranglers, DONT! get 4 of some other good tire, cooper zeon or Toyo open country. they are much better tires. Have them price match the price of the cooper zeons from discounttiredirect.com

There's better tires out there for the money. Are you saying you're the only person who has not had an "oh $hit" moment in the rain with these tires?
I've never had good luck with Good Years either. The ones on my old Dakota were awful in the rain and snow, and so are the ones on my Ram. I agree with the others in here - get something else. I am thinking of getting rid of mine this summer even though they will only have about 10k miles on them by then, and getting Cooper Zeon LTZ's.
As for your question, to my knowledge, there is no difference in the tires other than the obvious white color. The white lettering might be cheaper because the dealer, or Good Year might have a larger inventory and are trying to get them off the shelves.
