Default p1495? anyone??

hey i hope im posting this in the correct section, I own a 02 Ram v6 and i need to go threw emmisions, this is my 3rd dodge- love em! never had a problem with them until now, i went in for emmisions and right before it was my turn to test my truck stalled and check engine light came on. I get mostly code p1495, occasionally it throws p1282 ans p1388 i cant find out what the problem is. After the truck sits for about 45 min it will run fine for a little while, then when it dies if you have your ear close enough to the fuse box you hear a zapping sound like electical sound. it makes me think i need to replace the comp?? but why would it throw a leak detection code? Any suggestions would be greatly apprecaited

I think he knows what it is from the end of his post where he mentioned a leak detection code, but he needs to know how to fix it. Any ideas?

Default evap

its probly the evap leak detection, this is a common problem on 02-05 rams, its just a rubber hose on the evap pump it will most likly be cracked or broken, maybee that will help.

I replaced the leak detection pump thinking it could be that. no change. The printout autozona gave me says -ecm detected the pump soleniod did not change status when activated probable casues 1soleniod defective 2open or shorted circuit condition 3ecm defective the pump solenoid and the fuse box are right next to the battery, this is my 3rd dodge ive owned and i have noticed in all of them my batteries dont stay very clean so corrosion to the fuse box or any wires to the solenoid wouldnt suprise me. I'm gonna see about a solenoid tomorrow after checking all hoses and wires around battery.

the thing i dont get is if theres a leak in the system and thats what is throwing the codes why is it that the fuse box is making this electric frying sound? Im thinking eventually Im going to just have to break down and go to a mechanic but its just every time i go to a mechanic i get riped off BIG TIME !! so hopefully Ill find a leak or replacing the solenoid will do it. But if anyone has any other thoughts on it please let me know thanks

OK problem solved. It was my ecm shorting out so I called around to see if i could find a used 1 and everone i spoke with told me that i couldnt get a used 1 Id have to get a new 1 for this year. So $1,000 later I have a new computer in my truck. Its running great. When I did take the old one out I noticed it wasnt the original factory computer it had already been replaced once before. So Im hoping this isnt a reoccuring problem I have with this truck. thanks for all your suggestions tho I appreciate your help

How could you tell it wasn't the original ecm? I know mine has been updated b/c there is a sticker over the original one, but how do you know it is a whole new unit?
