Default little reading light in the roof not working

so the other day i picked up my dad after i got off work and took him to pick up his truck from the shop. while i was waiting for him i grabbed the mail from the box and tapped the little reading light in the roof by the windshield. i read my mail and when he got in i tapped the light again to turn it off. it went out but it made a loud snapping sound. we looked at each other and i reached up and hit it again and got nothing. the button just kinda flaps with no resistance what so ever and the light wont come on even when i turn on all the interior lights. anybody know how to remove this little cover so i can figure out what is wrong with the light. it sux majorly not having the reading light on my side of the truck!!!

if your talking about the one on the overhead counsel, i used a small knife on the side facing the front and pried it as far as the knife would let me then put another knife in to go the rest of the way and it just popped out

Those little b@st@ards are easy to break, usually the hinge pin that's part of the O/H.

so i popped the little cover off and checked it out. the bulb was fine but the little button that turns the light on and off is toast. so i guess in gonna have to remove the over head and replace that little switch. anybody have any suggestions on that? i know there is a small screw inside each of the openings with the lights.

same thing on mine, just opened it up. there are also 2 in the sunglasses holder thingy. the white plastic deal was fine on mine, the metal switch had broke loose and was just hanging from wires, i could trip the switch and the light worked so i just need to get up in there and reattach it.
