I have a 2006 2500 with the basic mirrors. Wheh I bought it I didn't realize it didn't have the tow mirrors(Excitement over new truck). I tow a fifth wheel camper and I can't stand the tow mirrors i attatch to the existing mirrors! I want to install the Dodge tow mirrors but I need to know if it's an easy job? The price that the dealer is giving is to High!

yes, very easy job. It took me about 1hr to do both (45min on door 1, door 2 15 min) I found them online for like $250 for the set brand new (Power/heated). If I recall this is where I ordered them from: http://beavertondodge.oemdealer.com/.

Do you need to take the door panels off? Or just the upper panel?

I took the door panel off when I did mine, which was very easy. I do know that it is possible to change without taking the panel off...

It's all one panel. Very easy job. It can be done without removing the panel, but it's easier to just take the panel off, set it aside and work on the door (or the mirror, speakers, whatever).

it's easy to take the door off, it's like one bolt to pull off the handle, two screws and a couple at the bottom, lift up and it's off. I've never seen a door design so nice honestly. Normally they are a pain to get off, not this one.

extremely easy job to do. It looks like the dealership link above, power and heated mirrors are running 300 before tax and shipping. Thats a decent price, and pretty good for new mirrors.

try to find a set on craiglist though, you can usually find em pretty cheap. If you have to, buy one at a time. Sometimes you can find deals that way.

Here is a link to the PDF instructions on the install of the tow mirrors.
http://www.moparsupercenter.com/pdfs/82209293.pdf

It took me about an hour to install them and 45 minutes of that was just running the wires. Its pretty easy.

Here is a link for pics installed on my 2500. I hope this helps...
