Bring your jeep to a transfer station and get it weighed, that way you know exactly how much it is.

I'd stay away from metal decks. They get slicker than snot when wet.

For tie downs, I'd go 4 8' grade 70 chains w/ grab hooks.
Or up grade your chains w/ ends like so....


4 Ratchet Style Load Binders (these won't bust ya in the jaw)

I like the trailer that you have, the only reason that I had the metal in my thoughts is the possible warping of the wood... you ever had that issue?

While you're there weigh your cobalt...doubt it curbs more than 3000 soaking wet.

The Rubicon has a dry weight of just barely over 4k pounds with a manual tranny, even modded to the hilt, it will NOT be an issue with a Ram... But I'd still get the gears and especially the air bags...

No, not so far (3yrs). They do shrink and swell a little depending on the season we're in.

yeah the rain on those metal decks = brutal. I ended up with a minor concussion from the fall and head slam that ensued. If you were to go metal deck have it bed lined that made it way better.
