Cool EGR Gremlins and Check Engine light Help!!

Hey all I first posted this problem about 3 weeks ago about my EGR valve (code P0404) sticking or something and the Engine light popped on. We I put in some Gumout in the gray bottle and the light went out and stayed out for the last 2 weeks and we even went back up to NC to pick up the RV last weekend. Well we never let it get to 1/4 of a tank of gas. Just under 1/2 was the closest. Well after getting back to GA I drove back and froth to work and it got to just under 1/4 of a tank and the check engine light came back on. Well I put in a cheap gas teatment and drove it for a while then ordered the new EGR @ $40-65 not sure yet, then the light went out and has been out for the last 45 miles or so, weired!!
I know I need to have the code rechecked but just putting in gas treatment shouldn't be the answer should it?? I'm going to change out the old EGR anyway but WTF??

Does the gas treatment get through far enough to clean out the EGR valve?? I just past 67000 miles today too

Here is a part of the paragrph I wrote from the old post
" I need to change out my EGR flow valve (code P0404) because it popped up last week on the engine check light. This dirty oil thing wouldn't have anything to do with the EGR messing up would it. The truck has 65,500 on it now and the O'rielly guy said I shouldn't have this problem with only that many miles on it. Then again I went up to NC from GA and used a no name gas station for a fill-up."

Change the EGR valve and you should be good, I changed mine out at about 40,000 miles and no CEL since

Just calm down and spend some money

Thanks "The Force55555" ordered the part yesterday and should get it in a few. This is not one of the everyday parts at the parts store. They had to get it from the factroy. H-

Knock wood the CEL is still not showing, of course I've ordered the new one. It's on back order per O'Rielly's.

By me running a bad EGR till I get the new one will it mess up my O-2 sensors?? I've been told the mileage will suffer but the mileage seems to be about the same and Gum out must be loving me because of the business I'm throwing their way for the fuel injecer cleaner (Gray bottle), lucky I've found them Buy-one -get-one-free the last few times.
