For all those who dislike the Champions, I just pulled my original plugs (Champion 507's) about 2 weekends ago and the truck has 65k. I only changed them because it was a long weekend and I needed something to do and not be bored. They never skipped. My MPGs were as normal. I pulled them and they looked like new. No carbon, No crustation. No excessive wearing. Im sure I could have left them in and keep driving for a long time more.

But I did go ahead and replace them and I went right back in with Champion 507's.

[QUOTE=lxman1;1604660]Yep, They do not last. 30K miles for a set of pugs on a modern day engine is crazy. They should at least last 60K.

I haven't replace my plugs and I have just shy of 116,000 miles on my 03 and it runs great.

Here's the skinny. The Dodge's like and run well on the cheap plugs. My brother is a level 4 chrysler tech ,hates champions but says run'em.
I read an article on plugs some years ago by some automotive institute and it said if you want to change plugs every 30,000 stay cheap,go with platinums for longevity and don't waste your money on splitfires and those like them.
Just bought plugs for my 2010 Ram hemi,16 of them and dealer only. I went to 5 different part stores.Go TO THE DEALER. The factory plugs are now NGK instead of champions. Rams do not like platinum plugs!

I have also heard HEMI's don't like anything other than Champions. I haven't heard they don't like Platniums. I changed factory plugs at 80k. Put in champion double platniums. What doesn't the Hemi like about them. I have over 30k on them. No Issues.

Yet. Leave 'em in for 100K.

Leave 'em in that long and it may not matter - they might not come out.

I'm just getting to 40k miles on my HEMI 2007. I've still got the factory installed spark plugs. Is it recommended to change them? Also, is this an "easy" task that I should be able to do myself?

Guys-

Please confirm this: If I am reading the posts correctly, and my vendor research is accurate, my 2007 Ram Hemi should have either Champion #570 or NGK #5306 plugs, 16 of them total, and this should be done at approximately 30,000 miles.

Please confirm this statement-

Thanks!

I've read that Chrysler switched away from Champion recently, but I don't know when or for sure. Yep, 16 plugs.

As far as 30K - that is "by the book", but I suspect they'll go to 50K without too much trouble. When I changed the plugs on my C at 49K, the gaps weren't too bad. The plugs on the Ram were REALLY bad at 87K.
