Default Fuel spray/leak while pumping gas

So I bought this used 2007 Ram 1500, Laramie, which is a great truck. It has about 37k on it. This is the problem, everytime I go and fill it up, no matter what gas station I use, the tank overfills. I put the pump on auto fill, it shuts off then about a half a cup of gas comes spraying out. I've tried to pump slowly, the pump kicks off then I still get the spray out. And no I am not trying to top the tank off the tank, I just want to fill a tank without having gas spraying all over my pants and paint! Any help would be great!

The main noxxle feed that goes to the tank is almost level to the ground for about 14" until it enters the tank. maybe yours is tilting upwards a little bit causeing the back rush?
Most problems like this are caused by a pressure relief valve on the emissions. I haven't had any trouble pumping gas.

I'd like to hear the answer to this as well. My 04 does the same thing.

There was an older thread on here about this. My 08 has never done this.

I just stick the nozzle in about halfway or so, no problem. If I dont, itll click and spray, and its not even full. Pull it out a little, get about $5 more in it. My Durango is the same way.

try checking the vent and angles. sounds like you are getting an air bubble and when the tank gets full it comes up pushing a little gas with it. look under the truck and check the filler necks angles like said above and the vent house

until you figure out whats wrong don't top off your tank just throw enough money into it to get you by that way you won't throw gas all over yourself and your paint
