Ramhunter, I want tow hooks in the front as well. I would use them to double line my winch though, giving me 24,000 lbs of pulling power. Even though reverse is a lower gear, I almost always prefer to pull somebody out going forward.

Agreed. You always, ALWAYS "granny" someone out while in reverse. This offers better gearing AND better traction because you have the weight of your engine over the axle.
You try to yank someone out going forward, especially with an empty bed, you end up just spinning your tires.

Ramhunter1, I'm pulling your official "Redneck Membership Card"...

The tow hooks are not facing the wrong way. On the 1500, it is a one piece deal, is it not? It comes like that. And every one that I have seen, the hooks are out, not in.

I originally missed that post. Thanks rssjib, now I get to jump on another dumb statement (see Ramhunter1, I don't ONLY pick on you).

Ideally you want to utilize BOTH hooks and join your strap or rope centered in front of the truck for a straight pull, usually utilizing a clevis. (always remember to weigh down the center of your strap, rope or chain, especially when using hooks and/or clevis').

When pulling in this manner, the force is transferred to the center of the vehicle, if the open end of the hooks were facing inward, your rope/strap or chain would simply slip off. If done so after enough force has been exerted, and no weight in the middle to direct the force downward, you've just created a heavy metal projectile and probably killed the guy you were trying to pull out!!!

The tow hooks I added are the OEM two hooks (part # 82209854).

I didnt really care the way it looked without the plastic bumper trim. My orginal thought was to cut it into three pieces, but I decided to try to cut slots into it first.

BTW, that little guy on the front of the truck......has a big dick....
