Yah thats weird lxman im on magnaflow site right now and the only thing they list for the 08 ram is kits for the mega cab.. The kit you want and the one I have are both listed under 07, I have the 16699 on my truck.. What I dont understand is how the y-pipe effects anything, the kit attached to the stock 3in pipe the resonator was attached to and thats attached to the y-pipe.. Save some money and buy the kit, itll fit your truck and youll love it.. especially the duals, I wish I woulda got the 16700 instead!! And dodgeboy my advice to you is that if you wanna put some LTs on and do custom true dual exhaust then save some money and start bending some tubes up, I bought the aftermarket kit and now im taking it off and going with LTs and true duals and it sucks now cause with what I spent on the magnaflow kit I coulda bought some nice LTs!!

would running your exhaust in 3 inch be a bad or good idea? ive been thinkin of runnin 3 inch from the exhaust manifold to a dual inlet dual inlet magnaflow muffler (part # 14568) and dual outlet with 2 3 inch turn downs? will that give me good sound?

So what exactly do you want to stay away from on custom exhuast to keep from losing HP and torque? Whats the best configuration to go with?

I know this is an old thread, but I just figured I would say that now I think I'm just gonna get a cat-back. Either Magnaflow, Borla, or the Aero muffler that everyone has been talking about on here. It seems to have just about the same advantages as a true dual setup and it's cheaper. Plus I dont want to void my warranty by messing with the cats forward. Assuming that I still have a warranty with everything that's going on.
